We've been on the road for quite a while now, and done a bunch of camping. Its been fun, but this city boy needed to get back into the scene.
We decided to visit my friend Alyse in San Francisco and it was a good decision. Before we came we brushed up on our San Fran knowledge so we didn't appear to be tourists.
Alyse's roommate Holly taught us all about Frisco. First of all, people there love calling it "San Fran" or "Frisco". Under no circumstances should you call it "The City", lest you be shunned like the gays that are definitely not welcome here. In addition everyone loves Rice-a-Roni and it's almost impossible to eat at a restaurant without having some. In fact we had plans to go to the Rice-a-Roni factory but we couldn't find it.
We got in Friday night and immediately started the festivities with Borski and Cactus Coolers. Alyse also made us all Bor-jito's (Mojito made with Borski and Cactus Coolers). They were yummy. We tried to go into the city, but got bored waiting for the bus and jumped in the ocean instead.
The next morning we woke up sandy and ready to do it again. We went to the beach but forgot our cameras. The water here isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Or perhaps we were just used to the cold after bathing in glacial runoff for the past week. We hit the weather perfect too, sunny and in the 70's. We didn't ever need a sweater as most Friscan's would recommend.
That afternoon we went to a party with Alyse's co-workers and had a blast.
Coming out of the Subway in San Fran.
Nate was a hungry boy. This bag contained 1200 corn chips. Nate ate most of them.
We met some real life Friscan Imports. My dude on the left is from Ohio State and likes college football. My dude on the right, Ulin, is a PSU alum and likes Goldshlagger and Bowflex as well as having Alyse get her coffee at work.
Then we met our Dude, Ed, who has an ailing speed beer problem. We helped him through it by making sure he didn't go cold turkey. To thank us he recommended we go to the Hate fair tomorrow and get solicited all sorts of zany substances.
San Fran was the first time we saw babes since we were in spitting distance of the Atlantic.
We called it a night after Cheesesteaks, and I can't even tell you where. The next morning we got some breakfast at the Bashful Bull Dinner with Alyse.
Nate has a bit of a sweettooth and got his fix by ordering himself a hot fudge Sunday. Alyse agreed it was delicious.
San Fran was a total blast and thanks to Alyse and Holly for showing us around The City!
